Sometimes looking past what is directly in front of you and imagining what is possible can really pay dividends. If you have ever watched one of the countless property programmes that litter the TV schedules you will know what I mean. Not a programme goes by without the presenter pointing out how to maximise the potential of a house by knocking a wall down ‘here’ or extending the kitchen ‘there’.
The owner of this beautiful ring purchased it because the diamond is quite exceptional. The stone weighs in at 4.69cts and it is beautifully cut but the ring itself was not to our customer’s taste at all. The shank was very narrow and the shoulders dominated with the result that the top heavy ring turned around when worn. Simply by changing the shoulders and shank for something with more substance where needed most has changed the appearance of this ring dramatically. Now, with much lighter shoulders, the eye is drawn to the diamond (as it should be) and when the ring is worn, it is much less likely to turn on the finger.
A tweak here and there is all it took to make all the difference.
